One flat thing, Seattle

The day after my birthday, I gave myself a treat. I booked a short stay in Seattle. My friend Thom Willems flew in from Amsterdam. He is a fascinating person, and also is history in making.

He is a composer and created really smart and sometimes confronting ballet pieces. Often together with William Forsythe, the american choreographer. This time their piece “one flat thing” got performed by the Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle. It was the closing “thing” of the night. It was an explosion of seemingly unstructured movement, that made a harmony from the beginning. A bit like life itself. Beautiful.
